STAGE 7 - INTERMEDIATE STAGE ORCHARD EVALUATION
Intermediate stage orchard trials are conducted with approximately 10 trees per rootstock genotype at each of 3 sites, in New York, Washington, and Michigan. The 5th leaf tree at Geneva pictured above with Ginger Gold as a scion is on a Geneva series rootstock that confers size control similar to the highly dwarfing M.27 rootstock. The larger trees in the background are 6th leaf Red Delicious on MM.111 sized Geneva series rootstocks.
