STAGE 8 - NC-140 AND ON-FARM TRIALS
The NC-140 Regional Research Project ("Rootstock and interstem effects on pome and stone fruit trees") includes coordinated orchard evaluations in approximately 30 apple growing states or provinces in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The NC-140 trials are the most extensive and exhaustive evaluation of the performance of new rootstocks in the world (click photo to enlarge). The NC-140 project is funded by the USDA-ARS through Hatch program funds.
